Having excelled as a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Nathaniel Walton has been promoted to Senior Surveyor at Davidson & Robertson (D&R), the firm of rural experts.
Nathaniel gained a 2:1 BSc Honours Degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management from Harper Adams University and joined D&R in 2022 as a Graduate Surveyor. Qualifying as a RICS Chartered Surveyor (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), he continues to learn and has gained a depth of technical experience.
His promotion to Senior Surveyor is in recognition of his professional development and level of involvement within D&R, taking on more responsibility for often complex projects.
Whilst his focus has been on renewable projects, including wind and solar, much of his current work focuses on telecom mast issues and Red Book valuations. Several of his renewable projects are nearing completion, freeing Nathaniel to become more involved in the Cross Border Connection project, which will introduce electrical infrastructure to bring power from Scotland to the national Grid via North Cumbria.
Commenting on his promotion, Nathaniel Walton said, “It’s good to have received recognition of what I have achieved to date, but I still have lots to learn and am excited about the opportunities 2026 will bring.
“The government’s ambitious plans for green energy are now powering forward with the long-awaited details on the Cross Border Project. Now we have a clearer picture of potential routes, so the demand for landowner support is increasing. Whilst this project is still at an early stage, we are advising landowners and farmers to look closely at the plans and urge them to contact or appoint an agent as soon as possible – it can make a significant difference in the longer term.”
Chartered Surveyor is a rising star
Paul Robinson, Director at Davidson & Robertson, said, “ We identified Nathaniel as a rising star when he joined us and were keen to nurture him through his development. He gets involved and has demonstrated flexibility and the ability to learn. In doing so, he has developed strong technical and analytical skills, as well as problem-solving and has a good rapport with his clients. We’re delighted to see him take on more responsibility and more complex projects as he continues with his career development.”
