The first rotation crop was planted in the early 2000’s and has good regular spacing and a good growth rate.
The second rotation crop is a mixture of planted and natural regeneration Sitka Spruce with varied spacing. This compartment has had some good growth with the timber being of medium quality.
The woodland also incorporates small areas of mixed broadleaves and Norway Spruce which enhance the amenity and Natural capital.
The minor public road leading south towards the A71 from the woodland is currently classed as a consultation route by the timber transport forum. Consultation with the local authority will be required before the route can be used for timber haulage.
