Professional background: After getting a degree in Accountancy and Finance from Heriot Watt University Alisdair trained as a professional accountant with smaller practices both in the UK and Ireland.  Alisdair gained experience in bookkeeping, management accounting, statutory accounting, corporation and personal taxation and auditing and qualified with ACCA.  Following qualification Alisdair held finance roles within the newspaper and banking industries and more recently specialised in Corporate Finance and business start-ups before becoming the Head of Finance for Davidson and Robertson.

Outside of work: Outside of work Alisdair enjoys living the family life with his wife and two sons.  Alisdair brews his own wine, mead, beer and ciders with wildly varying degrees of success (he claims that he’s never had to pour any away but that some have definitely taken longer to drink than others).  Alisdair took up martial arts with his boys in 2017 and he’s proud to have won a silver medal (for sparring) in the ITF Tae Kwon Do World Championships in 2019 and a gold medal (for sparring) and bronze medal (for patterns) in the 2020 UKTC Scottish championships.
