Davidson & Robertson donates over £4,200 to children’s charity in Scotland

Martin Hall, Senior Director at Davidson & Robertson donation to CHAS at Rachel House Kinross March 2025

The Davidson & Robertson team of rural surveyors and consultants took part in a charity walk around Loch Leven late last year, during which, they picked their 2025 charity of the year. Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), was the charity of choice, and this week, they received a cheque donation for over £4,200.

CHAS is children’s charity that provides unwavering care for children who may die young and helps their families too. It offers support from the early days after a child is diagnosed with a life-shorting condition to the age of 21, working across all Scottish hospitals, in children’s homes and in hospices too.

Martin Hall, Senior Director at D&R handed over the cheque for £4,274.53 to CHAS Senior Community Fundraiser, Sarah Dannfald and Naomi Lawson, her Assistant Community Fundraiser, at Rachel House in Kinross. Rachel House is one of two hospices that provide integrated palliative and end of life care as well as respite care for the whole family.

Martin spent time talking to the team and touring the gardens at Rachel House as he learned more about the work the charity carries out.

Martin said:

Rachel House is a dedicated short break home from home for families with very ill children. The team put a great deal of thought into how they can best help family members emotionally and physically. Rachel House is a very calm place, with a hydrotherapy room and large accessible gardens.

When you visit, you can’t help but be affected by the stories and the young people you meet. It was great to learn firsthand, just how our donation will be put to work, benefitting families and we wish the team the best of luck with their continued fundraising.

Sarah Dannfald, CHAS Senior Community Fundraiser said:

On behalf of CHAS, I am delighted to accept this generous donation from Davidson & Robertson. This gift means we are able to continue supporting so many children with life shortening conditions and their families across the country.

We genuinely could not provide this service without generous donations such as this. CHAS was built on the local communities of Scotland coming together to raise money to build Scotland’s children’s hospice 30 years ago and we are so grateful to still feel that love and support today.
