New Director appointed in Aberdeen office
Davidson & Robertson, the firm of Rural Surveyors and Consultants, has strengthened their Board of Directors with the appointment of Lewis Anderson, a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and member of the Institute of Agricultural Management (MIAgrM) with over twenty years’ experience. He is based at their Aberdeen office in Westhill.
Lewis initially began supporting D&R as a Consultant in January, working from their D&R Aberdeen office, covering Angus, Aberdeenshire, Moray and beyond. His work focused on planning and development, compensation claims for utilities work and renewable energy project negotiations. In his new role as a Director, he will continue to oversee these workstreams, supported by the D&R team.
As a Director with a strong background in commercial and rural property, Lewis will now join the D&R Rural and Agency Department, focussing on increasing market share for sales and valuations instructions.
D&R Director George Hipwell, who heads up the Rural and Agency Department and oversees the Aberdeen office, said “We were keen to ensure we found someone who was the right fit, not just for D&R, but for the clients too and, being Aberdeenshire born and bred, and a farmer himself, we are certain Lewis is the man for the job.
“He has a wealth of local knowledge, practical farming and surveying experience and since starting with D&R in January, has really proved to be a valuable member of the team, showing a real desire to work with us, looking after our clients well and growing the business.
“Looking to the future, we want to continue driving effectiveness and efficiency, continuing to increase our market share, and strengthening the service we provide to clients across the North East of Scotland. Lewis’ appointment will help us achieve that.”
Lewis will continue to cover a wide range of workstreams, supported by D&R Associate Neil Menneer who has strong roots in Aberdeenshire, and by recently recruited Graduate Andrew Frank who completed a degree in Rural Business Management at SRUC.
Commenting on his new appointment, Lewis said “It’s great to be part of a dynamic and growing business and being able to have a strategic input to our future development is an exciting prospect. The D&R team has grown considerably, appointing experienced staff to the Board, and recruiting graduates keen to work their way up the ladder.
“I’m glad to be joined in the Aberdeen office by Andrew, he has farming roots in Aberdeenshire, and spent the last few summers working on an arable and beef farm in West Lothian and in his spare time, still enjoys general farm work. We’re a down to earth, grounded team and from our Westhill base, we’re looking forward to providing a professional, pro-active service to new and existing clients.
“We are especially keen to continue D&R’s success in the rural sales market for both public and private offerings and harness the demand for rural lifestyle units.”
